Nicolette wandered aimlessly through the large HOH forest surrounding Forks. Originally from France, but she had been living in America for about the past three decades and the French accent she had was barely noticeable but she was able to turn it on when she wished. She had run into Alice Cullen about twenty years ago when she first heard about a vampire coven living in the Washington area and she ended up bringing Nic home to the Cullen home. She wasn't really sure where everyone was at the moment, when she left the house it had been empty. She thought she heard something about some of the guys were going out to hunt, she probably needed to do that soon. Either Chase or Ryan were probably off with the girls they seemed to be hanging around with the whole time.
Dressed in just a pair of jeans, a band t-shirt and a black hoodie left down from her long hair. She was bored out of her mind and had absolutely nothing to do in this small little hick town. Sometimes she would get the idea in head to leave this place, well not really forever more like on a vacation but then she wasn't really sure where she would go. She was sick and tired of just drifting along and living this pointless and meaningless life where everything was always continually the same. True she hadn't been living that long but the fact that true and actual death was never going to come and she was going to be stuck in this rut for all of eternity where everything was going to be predictable and the same forever.

James was driving up the road to go to pick up his father Jeff, who was hunting up in the rain forest with a couple of buddies. James, who likes to be called Luke, decided to stay home since he didn’t see the point of killing a innocent animal for, what Jeff’s friends called “Fun”. Personally, Luke didn’t like the idea of heading into the dangerous rain forest for hunting, not after the brutal killings that occurred over the years. The sheriff might have said it was safe now, but Luke still didn’t believe it.
Luke continued to drive up the rode in Jeff’s old pick up truck, for Luke could carry the died animals they killed in the back along with a couple of Jeff’s buddies. Luke was about five miles away from where Jeff was suppose to be picked up from. Everything was going smoothly, but as Luke continued to drive, the car began to act up. It was going slower, and the headlights were blinking on and off. Luke stopped the car, and opened the hood of the car to see what the problem was. As soon as the hood opened, white smoke began up rise, followed by gray smoke and an awful smell. Luke backed up and waited for the smoke to pass by, while covering his nose with his shirt to hide the awful smell. When the smoke cleared up, Luke walked up to the car and notice that the battery was fried. “Crap!”, He said walking to the door and grabbing his phone from his coat jacket inside the car. He pulled the phone out and dialed Jeff’s number. After the second tone, he could hear laughter of men and his dad speaking into the phone, “Hello?”. “Yeah, um hey Dad, its me James.”, Luke said with a high voice for Jeff could hear him throughout all the laughter from the other line. “Yeah, Luke where are you?”. “Um, pops we sort of got a problem.”, Luke said with a apologetic tone. “Uh oh, don’t tell me old Lucy broke down again?”, the laughter from Jeff’s side of the line died out, Luke could tell everyone could here the conversation. “Um, yea pop, Lucy’s battery is fried. And im in the middle of nowhere. It’s gonna be a while till I can get some one over here”. Luke waited while his father used about every curse in the English language, Luke couldn’t hear quiet well but he thought his father even said a Spanish curse too. “Okay, James here’s what were gonna do. Were gonna take Old’ Bob’s truck and were gonna head down to Forks and get a tow truck okay, and you just wait right there, and were gonna go and pick you up”. Luke got a little aggravated, but he knew it was the only solution, “Alright dad, just hurry up. Its getting dark”. “Alright son”.
After Luke hung up the phone he walked around to see if he knew where he was. Luck enough he found out where he was, he was near Edward Cullen’s house. He remembers where it was because Bella had a party and invite some of Luke’s friends so he tagged along. “Maybe I can go ask them for a battery. They should have one”. Luke fought over his idea for a few minutes, he was scared because he didn’t know Edward and the family at all, they only one he knew was Doctor Cullen, who was the best doctor in Forks, but that was only a patient and Doctor relationship. “Maybe Bella is there, maybe she can help.”, Luke didn’t know Bella either, but the encounters he had with her, she always seemed friendly. “Yeah Maybe she could help me out.”, Luke said while walking to the path where led to the Cullen’s house.

Nicolette had heard the pickup truck coming long before she even saw it. She watched on standing several feet away as she saw the blonde human stepping out of the vehicle and engage in a conversation on his cell phone. His scent hit her rather quickly the moment he got out of the vehicle, putting her in the position where she felt like just turning and leaving. Humans made her nervous, not in the sense that she was afraid of them more just that she was always afraid of doing something wrong around them and they just smelled so good, it was really hard to have to resist often, well fr her anyways.
Nic suddenly appeared by Luke’s side and cursed herself at having to automatically walk that fast and just appear out of nowhere, it wasn’t normal. ”You look to be having some trouble here.” she observed looking over the truck.
With the direction he was headed it seemed he was going towards the Cullen House, thinking quickly that may not be the best plan, she sure if anyone was still around at the house, and just bringing humans home you weren’t supposed to do. Although, she did hear Ryan had brought a girl home a little while back. Quickly rationalizing with herself that even someone happened to be home, he needed help and even just staying outside would help things. But who would be around to protect him from you? a voice whispered inside her head, but immediately ignored she wasn’t about to go and do that.
”I can probably help, I’ve sorta got a bit of mechanic experience.” she offered with this sweet smile that could draw anyone in.

Luke continued to walk up the gravel infested drive way toward the Cullen’s house. Once he was done speaking on the phone, he stopped in his tracks, “You look to be having some trouble here.”. It spooked him from hearing a sweet chime like voice speaking beside Luke. Though Luke was used to extreme from hanging out with Nolan, he couldn’t believe how fast this girl got to him. Luke was looking clearly up, and no one was in sight, unless she came out from the bushes, but he would have sworn he could have heard something first. “Did you just…..”, Luke couldn’t believe so he just ignored it. “I can probably help, ive sorta got a bit of mechanic experience”, the sweet voice spoke again. She was now looking over at the car.
She was beautiful, Luke had never seen anyone like her, besides Alice, but that was a different story. It was funny to Luke though, how this girl who looked amazing, popped out of nowhere near Alice Cullen’s own house. She had black straight hair, and had clothes that looked as if it was made for her. She had perfect skin, not a wrinkle nor spot wrong on it. She wasn’t as tall as Luke, but even with her height she looked as perfect as can be. There wasn’t one terrible thing about her, but just one. Who was she?
“Uhm, do I know you by any chance?”, Luke felt a bit confused, but he painted a smile on his face, and a laugh in his tone. “And really there’s nothing wrong with it, just need a new battery. The old one blew out”, Luke sighed. He knew it was a piece of junk in the inside, but his dad loved it, and it was a very useful car anyways. “Oh um, im Luke by the way, I was just on my way to see if Bella was at the Cullen house, maybe she could ask her boyfriend of they could spare a battery. If that’s okay?”.

Nicolette smiled brightly at Luke as he looked over her and first addressed her, still cursing herself that she should have made a less conspicuous entrance, but oh well what was done was done and nothing could be done now. "No I don't believe so." she replied quickly shaking her head. "I'm Nicolette." she added quickly. "Well that's really easy to fix, I thought it was going to be something a bit more complicated." she continued on in that bright and cheery tone of hers that just made it impossible for anyone not to be friends with her. "Oh Bella, she's not around. Neither is Edward." Nic replied matter-of-factly. "Actually I don't really know where a lot of that group has gone off to at the moment." she added thinking a bit to herself. "I moved here from France a few years back and I've been friends with Alice and she sorta invited me to stay with them, it's a long story trust me." Nic said in a short explanation. "But c'mon I really don't think anyone's around right now, I'll get you what you need just follow me and then we can get back to your truck. Trust me I really don't think any of them will mind, I live with all of them too after all." Nicolette insisted grabbing Luke's hand and quickly walking up the road towards where the Cullen house was located. "So where was it you were off it, before you got stuck?" Nic asked after a couple moments.

“Uhm,okay”, Luke said, taking her hand. He was pulled quickly, he almost tripped on a twig that was on the road, but regained his balance quickly. “So um, you don’t sound like your from France?”, Luke said. She did have a little bit of an accent, but it wasn’t French, and she pronounced words perfectly in an American accent, which would took years to do. Luke followed her trying to keep up with her pace, though she was very fast, and she had a very firm grip. He squinted once or twice, when the pace picked up quickly, but he bit his lip from screaming from her vice grip. Once they got to the Cullen residence, he waited for her to make a movement, he thought it was very rude to go into someone’s house without there permission, even if their guest allowed it.

"Oh, you were expecting something more like this?" Nicolette asked with a bit of a grin glancing at Luke, the French accent she had coming out more prominently then. "I'm pretty good with languages, and after living in the US for some time I've naturally been able to turn the accent off." she added. When Nicolette had stopped and then glanced down at Luke's hand she was holding her bit her lip covering her mouth with one hand a bit embarrassed dropping his hand as she did. "I'm sorry." she immediately apologized not really having noticed her grip on his hand earlier. "Um, just right here, I'll just go find a battery." she quickly said running off around to the garage. Glancing around the large room for a few moments and running a hand through her hair before going to rummage through one of the cabinets on the walls. She wasn't sure if Chase was around or off with that girl she had briefly heard about, his car he normally here but that didn't always mean anything with the capabilities they had just to fly through the forest. "You're sure it's just the battery?" Nic asked again when she had come around outside to Luke again and starting back down towards his car with him deciding this time against holding his hand. She was beginning to have to bit the side of her cheek every so often, just being so close to him his scent was overpowering everything else and she would be lying if she said wasn't tempted which only made her all the more guilty and quickly shove that little voice further to the back of her mind.

“Yeah, it has to be the battery!”, James said yelling out into the garage, still standing in the very spot he was told to stay. Nicolette walked quickly, with ridiculous speed toward James’s car. He was confused, he looked back at the garage, then walked back to the truck. “That’s all, all I have to do is get a new battery. If you’d like we can take one of your cars and go to a repair shop, see if there’s a battery we can buy”, James looked up at Nicolette, “is that cool”, trying to keep the awkward tension on a friendly level.
James continued to look at Nicolette, but then blinked and turned back to the Cullen’s house, feeling kind of odd that he stared at her. He really liked Autumn, but seeing this girl made his feel terribly awkward, it was the looks that gave him the awkward tension. It was like she was too beautiful, and she wasn’t even trying hard. James shook the thought of Nicolette out of his head, and thought about Autumn, which made him feel a lot better. He turned back to Nicolette, and the tension was gone, “Oh well that solves that”, James murmured. “Uhm, well I saw a couple cars, they wouldn’t mind if we just drove one down there. Would they?”.

"Sorry, yeah that would be a lot easier than walking down there. I'm just kinda used to walking around a lot out here, I just like the outdoors." Nicolette said a bit sheepishly. "I wasn't even really thinking, I'll just pull my car out." she added with a friendly smile. Pulling out from the garage moments later in dark green Porsche Boxster S, Nic smiled reaching over and opening the door a little for Luke then when she stopped.
When Luke got inside, she actually managed to pay a close attention to the speedometer for once and not end up speeding like she usually did much like pretty much the rest of them. It didn't take too long to get into town and pulled up in front of the local repair shop. "Um, so I'll just wait here for while you just go inside I guess." Nicolette said turning off her car turning to Luke, biting her cheek again when her gaze very briefly and discreetly darted across to his neck.
note--ah it's cool I understand, I kinda have something planned for later on in this thread that should you some muse likely.

James got into Niccy’s dark green Porsche boxster S, enjoying the wind hit his face, as the speed threw the highway toward the local repair shop in Forks. As they stopped near a curb, James noticed that they had reached their destination. He looked at Niccy, and smiled, “Okay, don’t worry ill be back soon. It’ll only take a sec okay.”. He got out of the car, rubbing his neck to see if there was something on it. To James it seemed as if, Nicolette was staring at his neck as if something was wrong with it. As he opened the door to the repair shop he shrugged off the thought and walked up to the counter.
There was no one there at the counter, but he could hear noise from the back of the door, that was behind the counter. He noticed a bell on the counter so he rang it. A few seconds had passed, but no one arrived to his services. He rang the bell again, with a questioned expression on his face. A few seconds and no one. James began to get a bit agitated, so he began to press the bell like crazy, waiting for the door to open. James looked around the shop, seeing if there was anyway he could get some service around here. But nothing. James was too occupied, looking around the shop for help and pressing the button as quickly as possible, to hear the door behind the counter open and close. A second later, James felt a sharp pain his hand, as if someone slapped the back of his hand with full force, which was an old man, with white hair and dirty blue trucker hat did with a flyswatter in his dominant hand. “What the hell you ringing my darn’gon bell for!”, he said. He had a trucker accent, and he seemed like he had some removable teeth as well, since it rattled in his mouth after ever word he spoke.
“Uhm, sorry guy.”, James was rubbing his hand, trying to ignore the blood pounding hand, “I need a battery, for a truck. Chevy to be exact, don’t happen to have any?”. “You’re Henderson’s kid ain’t cha? He called earlier about old Lucy, knew she wouldn’t last. Tried taking her from your pops, but NO! he’s as hardheaded as a rock. Eh, but I got’cher battery right here’. Don’t worry about the pay, I owe you’re pappy lots so it’s on the house.”.
“Uhm, thanks….Well bye.”, James turned with an awkward expression stuck on his face, then remembering the battery he turned, grabbed the battery with his throbbing hand, and walked quickly out of the shop. He opened the door with his unoccupied hand, and jumped into the car, and looked over to Niccy. “Got it!”, he said smiling. His expression changed, “Hey what’s wrong?”.
