( I'm safe up high ) ;; Nothing can touch me ;; Why do I feel this good sober ?
A petite dark haired beauty, Yasmin stood on the edge of the cliffs taking a drag of her cigarette. She sighed as the sounds of Sober by Pink blasted in her ears as she drifted off into another world. She missed California, and the cliffs was the only thing that reminded her of home. Out here in La Push it was hard to keep up her reputation as the bad twin up. Out here no one paid attention to her, all they cared about was Haley. Her perfect older sister was a "protector" of the tribe, they protected the tribe from the stupid leeches. Down in La Push Yasmin lived in the shadow of her sister, it was really annoying. Back home in Cali it was as if the world revolved around Yasmin, now the world only cared about Haley.
"Those stupid leeches. Why can't they just leave Forks?" Finding a few small stones she threw them over the edge of the cliff as she took another drag of her cigarette. Sure smoking kills, but it was relaxing in a way, besides it's not like she was addicted to them. "Haley would never have changed if it wasn't for them." Nothing about La Push felt like home, except for maybe the cliffs; whic was part of the reason why Yasmin lived in her car.
Suddenly her phone rang, checking the caller id she was that it was Haley. Should she pick up or let it go to voice mail? Deciding not to be mean she held the phone up to her ear and pressed the talk button. "Hello? Oh god, Hale relax I'm fine." Of course Haley was flipping out because no one had seen or heard from Yasmin in a few days. "Yes I've been living in my car and no I'm not coming home." Las Push wan't home to her, it never would be. Haley just didn't understand, no one did. "Listen Haley I'm not coming back to that house okay. I don't care if you have the pack on patrol looking for me. They can't tell me what to do." Yasmin was starting to get mad now, she wasn't a little girl anymore and she was sick of Haley treating her like one. "Hale I'm hanging up now. I'm not gonna argue with you okay. I'm not coming back." She hung up the phone as she kicked a small stone over the cliff.
"Give La Push a chance, yeah right this stupid place will never be home for me." Back in Cali she had so many friends it was hard to keep track, out here it was as if you had to be in the pack to have any realy friends. Climbing up on her car she sat up on the roof and blasted her music as loud as possible in her head phones. All Yasmin wanted was to feel at home or at least make a few friends. It seemed that Las Push would never feel like home. Looks like my car is gonna be home for a while."

Noah was having another one of those days. He had patrol the night before and he needed to unwind. He didn't really want to be around the pack right now. He had been spending too much time with them recently and he just needed to be by himself. The one place he knew he could go to have some alone time was to go hang out at the Cliffs. There was rarely anyone there unless they were going to cliff dive and Noah knew for a fact that no one was going to cliff dive today. The clouds were out and it just wasn't as much fun as when it was sunny. He jumped in his hoopty and began his drive to the cliffs. He could have transformed and ran all the way to the cliffs but he liked driving. The music from his radio cleared his mind. That was what he needed today....a clear mind.
He got to the cliffs and as he parked his car, he noticed another car sitting not to far from his. He saw some clothing and stuff in it so he figured it was just someone parked to sleep or take a short break from driving. He got out of his car and started his ascent to the cliffs. He could swear that he could hear someone talking but he thought it might have been the wind or something. He just continued to climb to the top of the cliffs.
When he finally reached his destination, he knew that he hadn't been crazy. There was a small girl talking on the phone. It sounded like she wasn't very happy. Maybe she was arguing with a sibling or something. He had seen her around before. Her sister was definitely a werewolf. He knew that much. He shouldn't be standing there eve's dropping on the conversation but he also didn't want to just walk up there while she was talking on the phone so he continued to stand there. When she said she wasn't going to go back and hung up, he couldn't help but listen to herself talk quietly to herself. He heard her talk down on La Push but that wasn't anything new. People either loved it or they hated it. It sounded like she didn't want to give it a try though so as soon as she was done talking, he walked up behind her and said, "You know, you really should give La Push a chance. It's a pretty cool place once you get past all of the werewolves. I know you know about them so I can say that. You're Haley's sister right? I'm Noah." he said with a small laugh.

"Yea I know about the wolves, and I know who you are. My name is Yasmin, I'm Haley's twin sister." Not many people knew that Haley and Yasmin were twins. They didn't look alike so the family resemblence wasn't obvious. Yasmin looked more like their mom, Haley looked more like their dad. Haley probably sent him to find her, Yasmin didn't need a baby sitter though. "Whye should I give La Push a chance? This place is nothing special." Yasmin put up a strong front, she wanted to give La Push a chance but for some reason it was hard to make friends out here. "So did my sister send you out here to drag me home or do you just randomly talk to girls who live in their cars?" There was a little sting in her voice, she didn't mean to come off like that but it was hard. She knew that her sister had the whole pack looking for her, Noah was probably here to get her to go home.
Standing up she walked toward the edge of the cliffs and looked out toward the ocean. "If you're here to convince me to go home don't waste your breath. I'm California bound baby, I'm going back to my real home." She looked back at Noah, a slight look of sadness on her face. Yasmin wasn't the type to look for pity but it was hard to hide the look of sorrow on her face. Everyone in La Push payed attention to Haley, it was as if Yasmin was invisible. No one cared about her, all they cared about was her sister because she protected the tribe. She looked back towards the ocean and listened to the waves as they crashed at the base of the cliffs. "Give me one good reason why I should listen to you. You're one of them, all you are is a precious glorified guard dog." There was a slight hint of anger in her voice. She didn't mean to come off as a stuck up little brat but it was the only thing she could do to stop herself from crying.
Needing something to relax her before she started to cry she grabbed her i-pod and put the headphones in her ears. Her sister might be a glorified guard dog but Yasmin was the one that had all the talent. Blasting Jai Ho by The Pusscat Dolls & A.R. Rahman in her ears she drifted off into her own world. She had joined a dance studio down in Seattle so that was the only reason why she hadn't left La Push for good. Letting the beat of the song flow through her ears she let the music take over as she moved to the beat of the song. She had almost forgot that Noah was there, but that was before she had crashed into him. She gently bumped into him, but that little bump threw her and him off balance. As he fell onto the grass she fell with him landing on top of him. "Sorry, I tend to go off in my own little world when I have my headphones in my ears. Are you ok?" She climbed off him and sat next to him in the grass. She knew he would be ok, he was a werewolf so he was almost indestructible.

Noah knew that Yasmin was Haley's twin because Haley wouldn't ever shut up about it when they were on patrol. Haley constantly talked about how Yasmin seemed to be growing away from her. Noah could tell by the sting in Yasmin's voice that it may have been true. "Oh, ouch! Are you always this angry?" Noah said jokingly. "La Push is a great place. It's the only place where you can transform into large wolves AND party on the beach." he said still joking around. He knew how hard it must be for Yasmin now that Haley was in the pack. Everyone looked up to the people in the pack and the fact that Haley was one of the only girls in the pack made her that much more looked up to. Noah didn't really see what was so special about being in the pack though. It's not like they got to choose their fate. They were just kind of thrust into the entire thing at birth. "Actually, Haley had nothing to do with me being up here. I really just wanted to get away from the pack." he said still smiling from his previous joking.
Noah wasn't quite sure why Yasmin had been so mad at him. He had never ACTUALLY had a conversation with her. He wasn't so much mad at her for hating him but it just made him more interested in her. Did she have something against the entire pack? He continued to talk to her anyway. "California huh? Well, I don't really see what's so great about it out there. I would take massive amounts of rain over an earthquake any day. What's the REAL reason you're running?" Noah asked interested. She was turning out to be one of the more interesting people in La Push. He was so used to everyone loving the pack but Yasmin wasn't backing down in her hatred. "You don't even know me. I may be part of the pack but I am still a human...so to speak." he said matter-of-factly. He then turned more light-hearted again. Joking was one of Noah's tactics to loosen people up. "You may see me as a big guard dog but I'm really more like a cute, fluffy puppy." he said chuckling.
Noah looked at Yasmin and could tell she was holding back tears. When she put in her headphones, Noah knew that it was her protection from the world. She hid behind the music. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing but she needed to deal with life sometimes too. He did however notice that she was sort of off in her own world. Especially when she started dancing a little to the music she was listening too. He had heard from Haley that she was into dancing. Noah stood there watching the girl curiously. It was sort of cool that she was into the music as much as she was. He looked away toward the ocean for a moment when Yasmin bumped into him. Usually, a little bump like that wouldn't have moved Noah one bit but he wasn't paying attention and it threw off his balance. Noah, being the "guard dog" he was grabbed onto Yasmin when they fell so she wouldn't get hurt when they hit the ground. His intention was to soften her landing on the ground but she ended up landing on top of him instead. When Yasmin opened her eyes from the fall, as she looked up at Noah, she spoke and aked if he was ok. They were face to face and he could see in her eyes for himself that she was just confused about her and her twin sister. He smiled gently at her, as he was looking down at her, and replied, "I'm fine." After a moment, Yasmin climbed off of him and they sat there in the grass next to each other. Noah was the first to speak. "So, do you always dance like that when you listen to music?" he asked.

( I'm safe up high ) ;; Nothing can touch me ;; Why do I feel this good sober ?
Yasmin looked away from Noah trying to hide the smile that was slowly trying to take shape on her face. "It's not anger, it's just complicated." If only he knew, but he didn't and there was no way he would understand. Being in the pack was like sitting with the popular kids at her old school. Everyone knew who was in the pack so everyone wanted to be friends with them. Being a girl in the pack, like her sister meant getting twice as much attention. Looking up at Noah there was a look of slight confusin in her eyes. "Noah, what's it really like in the pack? Haley doesn't talk about it much." Her sister loved bragging about how much fun it was to hang out with the guys. Yasmin wasn't stupid though, she had seen her sister come home with scars, she knew it wasn't what Haley made it out to be.
Still standing on the edge of the cliffs Yasmin looked out toward the horizon. The day was going by fast, the sun was slowly retreating behind the clouds. Either it was later that she had thought or it was about to start to rain again. A sudden gust of wind sent to sweet scent of the ocean around her. That's why she was going back to California. One single tear fell slowly down her cheek. She felt so out of place in La Push, going back to California meant going back home. "You feel that? That sudden calm that comes from the sound and the scent of the ocean?" She looked over at Noah as she wiped a tears that was slowly streaming down her face. "That's what's in California. That feeling of calm, the feeling that you can do anything." It might have sounded stupid but that's what she missed about her old home. She loved how going to her familiar spot on the beach made her feel. "It might sound stupid but you know how when you're little and you have that one favorite toy or that one blanket that makes you feel safe? That's what California is to me, it's where I feel safe."
She didn't expect Noah to understand, no one ever really did. She had spent the better part of 17 years on the shores of California, it was home. "It's nothing against you, really it's not. Ever since I got here all people seem to notice or care about is Haley." It had been months since they moved to La Push and even still Yasmin hadn't made not one friend. "You're the first person that's actually talked to me instead of just ignoring me." It was easy talking to Noah, she didn't know why though. He actually treated her like a person instead of a stupid little girl who didn't understand anything. "I don't get why it's so easy to talk to you. I never even told my sister any of that." Wiping away a few tears that still slowly fell down her cheek a tiny smile spread across her face. "Cute maybe, I'm not so sure about you being a puppy." A tiny giggled slipped from her lips as she looked away from Noah slightly embarassed that she had called him cute.
Brushing herself off a bit Yasmin rolled over onto her stomach. "Well I'm glad that you're okay. I'm sorry about that, I tend to go off into my own world when I dance." Talk about embarassing, first she called him cute and then she crashed into him for drifting off into her world. When he asked her about her dancing she felt her cheeks start turn bright red. She looked away quickly before Noah noticed. Yasmin had been dancing since she was really little so over the years she had become and excellent dancer. "I don't always burst into a sudden dance routine. It's actually a competition piece that I'm working on." Yasmin loved to dance more than anything in the world. She had found a dance studio in Seattle and she took lessons out there. It was far but it was the only reason why she hadn't gone back to California. "I'm trying to blend Bollywood style dancing with Hip-Hop moves since it goes with the song." Noah was the first person who had seen the piece, it was a work in progress so she didn't know how it would all come together in the end. "What do you think so far?"

Noah could see that she was holding back a smile and it only made his bigger. He loved making people laugh and smile. "It's okay to smile Yasmin, it makes the world a happier place." he said with a large grin on his face. He was surprised that Haley wouldn't talk about being in the pack. Most of the pack members weren't shy about being in the pack. They used it to their advantage. Noah was guilty of that from time to time too. "What is being in the pack like?" he repeated grabbing his chin in thought. "Well, it's not as glamourous as everyone makes it out to be. People think it's all running around in wolf form beating up bad people and bloodsuckers. It's really not like that at all. Yes we run around in wolf form but we just patrol mostly. We literally just run around. Of course there are certain times when an unfamiliar vampire will enter our grounds and we have to chase them out. There is a strange connection between all of us in the pack though. It's like a family. I don't know if that answers your question in the least." he said answering her.
Noah could tell that La Push was really unfamiliar to Yasmin. She didn't really know La Push and she wanted to play it safe. "Yeah, I understand what you mean about your safe blanket..." he said walking towards her. "...but do you really want to say that you played it safe forever? You'll miss out on so much in life if you play it safe all the time. Sometimes you have to let the security blanket go you know what I mean?" he said staring out into the ocean standing right next to Yasmin. He could see her wiping away tears. He looked at her. He didn't know why he was trying to convince her to stay in La Push. There was something about her that was different from everyone else here. It made her interesting...something different from everything else.
"Well, as of right now, I'm not interested in noticing Haley. I know her already. I want to know about you." he said looking at her. "No one should ignore you. You don't deserve it. I'm down for listening if you need someone to listen. If you need me to talk, I'm down for talking too." he said with a warm smile. "Sometimes it's easier to talk to someone else." he added. A smile spread across his face no matter how much he tried to fight it when she called him cute. It wasn't something he heard very often. Usually when he heard "cute" the girl was talking about Braydin. "I think you've got you and me mixed up cause I'm the guard dog, not the cute one." he said immediately turning red right after. He didn't usually wasn't so up front with girls. He was far too shy so calling a girl cute wasn't like him. There was something different about this girl. He turned away trying to hide his embarassment.
"Sometimes it's your own little world that keeps you sane." he said. He did actually enjoy watching her dance. She was really good at it. "Wow, a competition huh? That's talent right there. The only competition I could ever hope to win would be a staring contest...and I usually lose." he said jokingly, laughing. "The dance is great. I would really like to see all of it when you're done with it but that would mean you would have to stay in La Push for a little while longer." he said in hopes that she would change her mind about moving out of La Push. He wanted to know more about her.

( I'm safe up high ) ;; Nothing can touch me ;; Why do I feel this good sober ?
Yasmin looked over at Noah and smiled. There was no use hiding it anymore, he had gotten her to smile. She didn't know why but it seemed so effortless to be around him, like if she had known him for a long time. It was weird, she wasn't used to being shy around guys but something about Noah just made her feel like if she was floating on air. "So if smiling makes a world a better place and we're both smiling how much better is the world now?" She liked Noah's smile, it had a sweet dorky charm to it. Looking down at the grass that the two of them were sitting in she glanced up at him with a shy grin. "I like you're smile, its cute." She giggled and looked back down at the grass. She couldn't help but smile around him, maybe she would stay in La Push after all. She wanted to get to know him betterm he seemed like a really sweet guy.
She listened as Noah explained what is what like to be in the pack, Haley made it seem like it was so amazing and really it didn't seem that way. "Wow, when Haley talks about the pack she makes it seem like all you guys are all over her." Yasmin knew there was something weird about the way Haley described the way things in the pack were when there wasn't anything to do. Her sister was probably trying to get her jealous since Yasmin always had all the luck with the guys. "Are all you guys really that close? Wow I wish I had someone that I was that close with. Haley's just been thinking about herself and the pack. She didn't even notice me until I left the house." Ever since her sister met all the guys in the pack it was as if she totally ignored Yasmin. It was as if her sister was a totally different person now. "So has Haley been telling all you guys how it's me that's changing and how everything is my fault? It's really not, I may want to go back to California but I'm still the same person i was before all this craziness started." Everything was different now, it was hard for Yasmin to adjust but she was trying to make things work so that her family wouldn't fall apart.
Tears slowly falling down her cheeks she laid her head against his chest and put her arms around his neck. "What if I can't just let go? California was my home, it was the only place I knew. How do you let go of something that has basically been a part of you since you were born?" After moving to La Push it was as if no one cared about her anymore. It wasn't easy trying to adjust to La Push when everyone was busy obsessing over the pack. "I get what you're saying but I just don't think that I fit in here in La Push." She looked up at Noah, there was something about him that made her want to stay. So far he had been the only person to make her smile and to make her feel like she belonged. He was so sweet, he wasn't like the other guys that she knew back home. there was something different about him, and it wasn't the fact that he was a werewolf.
Yasmin felt her face turn bright red, she didn't bother trying to hide it because she knew that he was bound to see her blush. "I think you're the first guy who actually wanted to get to know me instead of my sister. Not everything about me is all that interesting to know." Looking away this time so he wouldn't see the expression on her face she went quiet for a bit. She of course had been talking about the fact that she had gotten raped a few weeks ago. No one except Nolan knew about that, it wasn't something that she felt like sharing with the world. "That's really sweet Noah, I'm glad that you came around. You're different than the other guys in the pack, you're really sweet." She smiled up at him and giggled. She had caught him blushing when he called her cute. He really was cute, he had a sort of dork charm that just made him so funny. "Oh really, I'm the cute one? I don't really think I am. How about this, we're both equally cute." She placed a hand on his cheek and turned his face toward hers. "Don't be embarassed Noah, that was really sweet." It was cute how he was so embarassed that he had called her cute. "The big bad guard dog is shy around girls? Are you really this shy around girls?"
"I love my little world. When I dance it feels like I can do anything." Nothing else mattered when she was dancing, all that mattered was focusing on her routine. "Yea, I've actually won a lot of competitions." Normally she would ash her sister to go to her competitions but since all Haley cared about lately was the pack she wasn't gonna invite her. "Um, I don't really know if you would be into it,, but do you want to come with me to my competition? It would be really nice to have someone there to support me." He would probably say no, most guys normally did but it didn't hurt to ask. She laughed at his comment about staring contests. "A staring contest? Hmm I think you would probably be able to beat me. Come on, I challenge you to a starting contet Noah." She looked down at her hands then reach for Noah's hand. Looking up at him she blushed as a smile gently spread across her face. "I think I just might be staying in La Push for a while. I met this really cool guy who's starting to make La Push seem like a better place."

They were both finally smiling. It took a little work on Noah's side but his goal was achieved. He made her smile and she couldn't hide it anymore. "Well you see, that's just it. The world is now as good as it can be for the both of us. Smiling means that we're happy. Happy is good." he said with a big grin. Yasmin's mood seemed to pick up. She was kind of cute being all shy like that. Haley would always talk about how outgoing Yasmin was but from the looks of it, she could be just as shy as the next person. As Noah thought about that, his smile grew a little wider. Why thank you. I like you're smile too. You have a beautiful smile.". Wow. Did Noah actually just say that. That was completely unexpected for himself. He was NEVER this outgoing....ever.
"All over her huh? Well, no offence to your sister or anything, but she's more like the little sister of the pack. She's not my type anyway." he said. He didn't really ever think of Haley that way BECAUSE she was in the pack. Like he said, they were more like a small family. Dating her would have just been weird...like kissing your sister. "Yeah, we're all pretty close. We have to be though. We can't fight together if we don't trust each other. Of course there are some people who are closer to each other than the rest but for the most part, we all know almost everything about each other. We can't hide things from each other too easily. Mostly because when we are in wolf form, we can hear each others thoughts. It's a cool power but sometimes it's annoying. You don't have ANY privacy." he explained. Noah could see that Yasmin really needed someone to talk to. He kind of felt bad that he had never said anything to her before. She was turning into one of the coolest girls he had ever met. "Well, if you decide to stay in La Push, I'll be here to talk to you...always." he said almost as if he was promising her. "Haley did mention something about you changing but I don't ever pass judgement on anyome until I meet them myself. If you are changing, it's not a bad change because I really like hanging out with you." he said with a smile.
Noah was a little surprised when Yasmin put her arms around his neck. It wasn't a bad thing...just surprising. Still, he wanted to comfort her because he knew how hard this was for her. He put his arms around her, holding her in a gentle hug as she cried. "I know it's hard to let go but sometimes it's for the better. You won't ever REALLY let go of everything there. It was you're home. It will always remain a part of you." he said still holding on to her. He wasn't sure why he was deadset on convincing her to stay in La Push. She was just so different from all the other girls he met. That's probably why they were always throwing themselves at Braydin. She wasn't like them. There was just something about her. "You'll fit in. As long as you're hanging out with me, you'll fit in. And if you still don't, screw them, I'm down for becoming a loner with you." he said pulling away from the hug, smiling and looking at her.
"That's where you're wrong. So far, you're one of the most interesting people I've met...in a good way. I already know your sister. It's you I don't know." He could tell that there was something deep down that she wasn't ready to talk to him about. He wouldn't expect her to start pouring her heart out though. After all, they had just met not more than an hour before. "I'm glad you were here when I got here. I thought I wanted some peace and quiet but this is WAY better. he said with a light laugh. He hadn't had this much fun talking to someone in quite some time...especially a girl. "Well, I happen to think so but I'll go with the equal thing. Isn't that what it's all about now anyway...equality." he said jokingly. He blushed some more when she aked him about being shy. Finally he was being shy around her. This was something he was used to. "Well, you wouldn't be ablt to tell, but behind this strong, guard dog exterior, there is a shy guy. I'm gonna be honest with you, I have never been this talkative around any girl. There's just something...." he cut off the sentence a little short because he was getting even more red in the face...if that was even possible.
Noah completely understood what she was saying. That's the way he felt when he played guitar. He loved playing. It was the only time he could be completely free to let the music run through him. "That's so awesome. That's what it feels like to me when I play guitar too." He had started a band with a few of the other pack members including his best friend Braydin. Their first gig was set for the huge house party that he and Braydin had been planning for weeks. He was happy when she invited her to her competitions. He couldn't wait to see her in action for real. He would be there, in the stands supporting her for sure. Plus, it gave him the chance to hang out with her some more. Did this mean she wasn't leaving La Push? That was a good thing. "Psh, you don't have to ask me twice. You know I'll be there cheering you on. I'll even paint big Y's on my face in bright yellow face paint if that's the kind of support you need." he said lauging. "I do however have one condition." he said with a grin. "You have to promise me that you'll come to mine and Braydin's party. Our band is playing and I need some support. It's our first gig!" he said with excitment, not only for the band but also for her maybe coming to the party.
Noah chuckled a bit at the staring contest challenge. He figured he would lose if she was serious about it. Then she grabbed his hand. He wrapped his fingers around hers as she looked up into his eyes and talked about staying in La Push. It made him happy to know she was staying. He looked back into her eyes and smiled. This was the best staring competitions he had ever been challenged to. "Good because I met this girl who makes La Push a better place when she smiles."

( I'm safe up high ) ;; Nothing can touch me ;; Why do I feel this good sober ?
She didn't know why she was so shy around Noah, there was something about him that just made her feel like she was a little kid. Yasmin was really starting to like Noah, he was a really sweet guy. She looked down to try and hide her dorky shy smile that she knew was slowly spreading across her face. "So is you're world better now that you got me to smile? I know mine is better thanks to you." She could feel her face turn even more red than it already was. He said that her smile was beautiful, not pretty, not nice, but beautiful. She wasn't too sure but she had a really strong feeling that he was flirting with her, she knew for a fact that she was flirting with him though. "Aww thanks Noah, that's really sweet." He was making her day, just by him staying here talking to her and making her smile with his sweet dorky charm he was making her day that much better.
Yasmin knew that Haley had been lying to her the whole time, no offense to her but there was just no way that the pack guys would be all over her. They were twins, but for some reason all the guys always wanted Yasmin; Haley was the prettier twin though. "Really, she's not your type? It's funny how Haley is the prettier twin but all the guys seem to like me. So if my sister isn't your type what is?" Yasmin always did have a gift for putting guys in akward situations, but it was interesting to see what types of girls guys like; then again they do say that curiosity killed the cat. "That's cool how you guys are all so close. The privacy thing isn't all that cool but at least you guys can all talk to each other. I used to be like that with Haley before she made the change." Before either one of them knew about the werewolves or the vampires Haley and her sister weren't just sisters, they were best friends. "I think I'll stay in La Push just because of you. I could use a little guard puppy to hang out with." She giggled as she nudged him playfully. He did remind her a bit of a little puppy, but that's what made him cute. "I normally don't judge people like that either but I don't know just the way Haley talks about the pack just made me hate you guys. I'm glad that I was wrong about at least one of you guys though. I really like hanging out with you too."
Still leaning against Noah she gently wiped a few stray tears away from her face. It was nice that he was there to listen, maybe that was all she really needed. His embrace felt warm and gentle, it made her feel like if she was safe for the first time since she got to La Push. "I wanna let go but at the same time I don't. I guess you're right though, i have to try." She looked up at him with tears still slowly falling down her cheeks. "It's not gonna be easy is it?" She already knew the answer to that question but she wanted to see what he would say. She hoped that he would be there with her as she tried to adjust to staying in La Push. Something about him made her want to stay, she wasn't sure what it was but there was just something. He was different than any other guy that she had met, it was a nice surprise to meet a guy like him. "So if hanging out with you means that I'll fit in does this mean I'll get to see you again after today?" She looked up at him and returned his smile. She really hoped that she got to see him again, she wanted to get to know him better.
"Really? I don't think I'm all that interesting, but I guess if you say so then there must be something interesting about me." She looked down to try and hide her smile that just kept growing wider. Twirling a piece of her long black hair she looked up at him despite the fact that she knew her face was probably the color of a tomato because she was blushing so much. "What exactly is it that you want to know? Compared to you, I'm probably not all that interesting." There really was nothing all that interesting about Yasmin, she was a normal girl with normal interests. The most interesting thing about her was that she was an amazing dancer and she was pretty good at writing poems, other than that there really was nothing all that interesting. "This is way better that quiet. Despite the fact that I've been blushing almost non-stop this is actually fun." She laughed a little and smiled at him. "I think the equality thing works just fine. I still say that you're cuter though." She quickly turned away so he wouldn't see her turn even more red, if that was possible. She really needed to stop calling him cute, it was the only way to get herself to stop blushing. "Hmm I think you were right about being a little puppy. It's okay though, you can be my big bad guard puppy. Since you're being honest with me it's only right that I do the same. I've actually never been this shy around a guy before." She looked up at him as he looked away because he was blushing again. "Something what? I'm a very curious person I wanna know, you don't have to answer if you don't want to though."
A dancer and a guitarist, it was an interesting pairing. Yasming loved the way guitars sounded, it was something that she had always wanted to learn. Maybe Noah could teach her how to play. "That's really cool that you play guitar. I tried learning but I'm no good at it, I really wanted to learn how to play though." Her sister was a guitarist too, she was really good. Haley would dance with her fingers, Yasmin would dance with her legs; that was what her family always said about them. "Maybe one day you can play for me and maybe teach me a little?" She smiled hopefully, she really did want to see him again. Her eyes lit up when he said that he would come to her competition, not many guys are into dance competitions; apparently Noah was the exception. She gently kissed him on the cheek and gave him a quick hug. "That's so awesome Noah, thank you. The bright yellow face paint might be a bit much but thank you so much for coming with me." She smiled when he told her about his condition. "I'll be there dressed to kill and front row just for you, I promise." She couldn't wait to see him in action, concerts were always fun, she was a little nervous about the party though. As long as he was there she was sure that she would be fine.
Giggling she felt his fingers slowly wrap themselves around hers as he met her gaze. "Let the staring contest begin then. First person to blink or laugh loses." She probably could have beat him if she had really been trying but she really didn't care if she lost or not. Of course he had to say something that would make her blush, she couldn't even look away because they were still staring holes into each others eyes. "Hmm i wonder who that girl is? She must be pretty lucky to have caught your attention." She didn't know when or even know how it happened, but the next thing she knew her eyes were closed and she was gently kissing him on the lips. Realizing what she had just done she pulled away quickly and turned away. "I'm sorry I don't know what I was thinking." She slowly stood up from the grass and started backing away towards her car. "Umm I guess, I'll see you around Noah." She turned slowly as she walked towards her car. Half of her hoped that he would get up and follow her and the other half hoped that he wouldn't, the half that hoped he followed her was literally screaming inside her head though. She had almost made it all the way to her car when she suddenly heard the loud rumble of thunder, so much for it being a nice day.

Noah smiled when she tried to hide the smile that was spreading across her face. He reached forward and moved her chin gently forward so that she was looking at him. "To be honest, it's the best it has been in a long time." he said still smiling and looking into her eyes. He had never really been any good at flirting with girls mainly because he never really did it. He was way too shy to do it usually. He didn't know why it was coming so naturally with Yasmin. He didn't really care either. It was cool. It was just really nice to finally meet someone who wasn't all over the fact that he was a werewolf. It was nice to just talk to someone about something else other than the pack.
Noah had never really been attracted to Haley. Not that she wasn't pretty because she was but she was more of a sister. He just couldn't ever see her as anything more than a friend. He was surprised when Yasmin commented on Haley being the prettier twin. He didn't believe that for one second. They may have been twins but they were so different. Yasmin had put Noah in an awkward situation. He couldn't really explain his type. He just knew that Haley wasn't it. "Well, I can't really explain what my type is but I can tell you that it includes girls with killer smiles." he said with a smile. He hadn't smiled this much in a long time. He didn't know what it was about Yasmin but she brought out a different side of Noah. One that had been screaming to come out for a long time. He could hear her disappointment about not being able to talk to Haley as much anymore since being in the pack. "Yeah you would think that you would be able to talk to everyone in the pack all the time about everything but the thing about not being able to hide anything is that it's hard to actually sit and talk with the other members of the pack because they know everything already. And then sometimes, they find out stuff you don't want them to know. It's just hard. Maybe that's why I like being here with you. I can actually talk to you about stuff the way it should be. It's just nice to talk to someone without them knowing ALL of my thoughts." He blushed a little when she said that she would stay in La Push because of him. It made him happy because she was staying. He laughed a little when she nudged him. "It's ok. You're not the only one who judges us right away. It just comes with being in the pack. Yhe guys aren't all bad. he said.
"Sometimes letting go is the hardest thing to do...but it can also be one of the best things you can do." he said. When she looked up at him, he wiped the tears away from her face. "It's never easy but what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. I'm here to help you through it. You won't be alone." He wrapped his arm around her in another hug. He didn't know what made him so open with her. He was usually really shy. She brought out the best in him. "I certainly hope that it means we'll see each other after this. I was hoping anyway..." he said. He definitely wanted to see her again after this.
Noah wanted to know everything about Yasmin. She was the coolest person he had met. "I do say so and what I say goes." he said jokingly. It was really cute how she started twirling her hair around her finger. "I want to know everything that you are willing to let me know. So far, the more I find out about you, the more I like you." he said. "Quiet is nothing compared to this. I'm glad you were up here. And I like the blushing. It adds color. he said with a chuckle. "I guess we agree to disagree. You're definitely the looks of this operation we've got going on up here." he said. He lauged a little when she turned her head away agein. She was blushing again. "I can do that. I can be you're bodyguard...your protection." he said smiling at her. "So it seems that we bring out different sides of each other. I hope it's a good thing for you...it's a good thing for me." he said smiling. She looked away again. She was blushing even more. When she asked Noah to finish his sentence, it was his turn to look away to blush but he looked back at her to tell her what he was originally going to say. " There's something about you that makes me feel like the world isn't always so bad. I know I just met you but I feel so comfortable with you like I have known you for years. You're just different from everyone I know...in a good way." he said looking into her eyes.
"I can totally teach you how sometime. Maybe you can teach me some moves sometimes. I'm a terrible dancer by the way. I think I seriously have two left feet." he said laughing at himself. He would probably show up to the dance competition with yellow Y's painted on his face just because. It was just something he did to make a splash. Plus, he would want everyone to know who he was there for. "So when is this competition. I'm very excited. Not just to see you dance but also because I'll get to use face paint again. I haven't painted my face in a while." he said with a grin. He was even happier when she said she would be at the party. He would get to hang out with her even more. "Awesome. I'll be sure to dedicate a song to you."
When the staring contest started, Noah found himself just looking into her eyes. He couldn't take his eyes off of her. "I'm actually the lucky one..." he began but then she kissed him. It was unexpected but it was good. He found himself closing his eyes as she kissed him. She pulled away from him before he had the chance to kiss her back. She got up and started backing away from him. Noah was still shocked that he had just been kissed by this amazing girl that he didn't even realize that she had turned and was almost at her car. When he realized what was happening, he got up and ran over to her before she could reach her car. "Wait, you didn't give me your number yet... he said grabbing her hand. "...and also, you didn't give me the chance to do this..." he said and then lifted her chin and kissed her back. This was totally not something Noah would do but there was something there when she kissed him before. Something good...like everything was going to be okay for the first time...for the both of them. The thunder roared again as Noah stood there kissing Yasmin but he didn't care at the moment.

( I'm safe up high ) ;; Nothing can touch me ;; Why do I feel this good sober ?
Noah's touch was gentle and warm as he reached for her chin and turned her head. She kept smiling as she looked back into his eyes. "I'm glad that I make your world better. You made mine better that's for sure." She couldn't remember the last time she was this happy with a guy. It was weird how she was so shy around him, she wasn't normally like that. Her outgoing personality was what often got her into trouble, but with him around that side of her was in hiding. It was a nice change for once, being able to talk to a guy without him trying to get into her pants. Yasmin was glad that she had met him, she felt like she had finally found someone who she could talk to when she needed someone to listen.
She couldn't help but blush when Noah described the type of girl that he liked. For a guy that was suppose to be super shy he was being a major flirt with her. She liked it though, it was as if she brought out a different side of him. "Haha, so if your type includes girls with killer smiles do I fall into that category?" It was hard dealing with the fact that she was losing her sister because of the pack. It was bad enough that she had to leave California behind but now she was losing her sister, her sister that was also her best friend. It seemed that Noah had the same problem, a pack full of people but there was no one to talk to. She wrapped her fingers around his as she smiled up at him. "Now you have me, I'll always be around to listen when no one else can hear you." Yasmin wanted to be there for Noah, he was sitting here listening to all of her problems and trying to fix them, she wanted to do the same for him. "I may not be able to read your thoughts but I can try." She put the tips of her fingers to her forehead and pretended to read his mind. "Hmm from what I can tell you're having an awesome time hanging out with me."
She closed her eyes as she felt his finger tips gently wiping away the tears that slowly fell down her face. He really was amazing, most of the guy she knew were insensitive jerks who would have laughed at her for crying. "I'm glad that I have you to help me Noah thank you." She fell into his warm embrace as he put his arms around her again. She held on to him not wanting to let go because she didn't want this moment to end. She had just met him but it seemed as if she had known him for years. "I'll probably be grounded for running away when I go back home but you can come over whenever you want. I like spending time with you." She smiled through the last few tears that were slowly falling down her cheek. She didn't want to go back home but she had a feeling that he would make her go back so Yasmin didn't really have much of a choice.
Yasmin loved that he wasn't afraid to be himself around her. Most guys try to impress her with fancy things and flattery but Noah was different. He wasn't afraid to be himself around her and she like him exactly as he was, she wouldn't change anything about him even if she could. "Yea well you're not the boss of me Noah." She playfully stuck her tounge out at him and made a funny face. Everything that she was willing to tell him, it would be hard to do that. She had issues trusting people with certain things, but she wanted to trust Noah. "Hmm we'll get to that another time, right now I just wanna have some fun." She playfully tackled him into the grass before sitting on him. "It's a good thing for me for sure. I like being the shy one for once." He was her protection, her own personal body guard. Actually he was her guard puppy, she thought it was cute. "Haha I have the cutest most awesome guard puppy ever." She rolled off of him and layed next to him in the grass. "I feel the same way Noah, you're actually the first guy who's made me feel that way. Everything just comes so naturally with you I don't know why it does but I like it."
"Hmm guitar lessons for dance lessons, that sounds like an even trade off." She giggled at him comment about having two left feet. "Noah by the time I'm done teaching you you'll be an awesome dance and if not it's ok, I still like you anyway." Her competition was about a month away but now she couldn't wait for the day to arrive because Noah was gonna be there. "It's in about a month, I don't remember the exact date. When I remember I'll let you know." Yasmin smiled at his determination to use his face paint, he was funny in a cute dorky way. "You can use the face paint but I want green Y's since green is my favorite color." She saw Noah's eyes light up when she said that she would be going to the party. Yasmin loved to party, but she was a bit nervous because she knew that as soon as she walked in she wouldn't know anyone.
She felt Noah gently grab her arm before he suddenly turned her around. "A chance to do wh--" Yasmin was suddenly cut off by him as his lips were gently pressed against hers. Closing her eyes she put her arms around his neck and could feel her body molding itself to his. The thunder rumbled around them but neither one of them seemed to care, Yasmin knew that she didn't. Her fingers slowly tangled them in his hair as the kiss continued. Noah's kiss was nice, like everything else that had happened between them it just seemed effortless. His lips were gentle and warm as his lips moved with hers. There was no akwardness like there should have been when people kiss for the first time but there was a calm about the kiss as if nothing could go wrong ever again. A sudden loud rumble of thunder brought what the two of them had been expecting, it began to rain. Noah showed no signs of stopping the kiss and neither did Yasmin, it was nice kissing him in the rain. When it started to rain harder though Yasmin slowly pulled away and looked up at him. "Do you always wait for the rain to come so you can make your move?" She giggled as she took both of his hands in hers and wrapped her fingers around his. Perfect, everything was just so perfect. Yasmin had never met a guy like Noah and she really liked him. One more gentle kiss on his lips and then she leaned her head on his chest. "Who cares about California when I have a guy like you? I don't think I've ever been this happy around any guy Noah. You're something special."

"Well, you're smile makes my world better so I guess that would make you my type." Noah said. He had been in the limelight this whole time. It was time to put her in an awkward situation. "So...what about you? What is your type of guy?" he asked with a devilish smile. He felt like he could ask and talk about anything when he was with her. He never felt like that with anyone but his best buddy Braydin. It was nice to have a GIRL to talk to instead though. In some ways, it was easier to talk to her about certain things. He was very happy to know that she would be there when he needed someone to talk to. He wanted to be there for her too especially since she was having a hard time adjusting to everything in La Push. Plus, it gave him a reason to see her again. "So then it's agreed. We will both always be here for each other." he said almost matter-of-factly. Noah couldn't help but smile when she put her fingers on his forehead. "Wow, that is exactly what I was thinking. You ARE psychic." he said laughing.
It was almost like fate that they had met in this secluded area. Not very many people had been up in the Cliffs. Noah had met a few other people but for the most part, he didn't see people up here very often. They sat there holding each other as if they never wanted to let go. Noah closed his eyes as they embraced each other. It just felt right for once. He couldn't wait to go over and just hang out with her. She would be grounded so even if he had to sneak in a window, he was down for it. "Well, even if I have to scale the house and jump through the window to see you, I'll definitely be there." he said with a chuckle. "I wouldn't miss hanging out with you for anything." he said looking down at her with a warm smile.
Noah felt like he could be himself when he was with Yasmin. He didn't have to try to pretend to be cool or stylish with her. He didn't have to pretend like he didn't drive a piece of junk car cause none of the seemed to matter to her. "Oh really? Noah said poking her in the stomach and laughing. He couldn't wait to get to know her better. She was right though, they should just have some fun. There was plenty of time to get to know each other. He saw her come at him but wasn't prepared for her to tackle him. "You do? That's good because I like being the non-shy one for once." he said smiling at her. "I will definitely be your guard puppy. When she rolled off of him, he turned on his side and propped up his head with his hand. "Exactly. Everything is just natural with you. I don't know why either but I can tell you that it's the best feeling I've had in years. I like it too." Noah said looking at her.
"Well, as long as you'll like me the same when I'm stepping on your feet I'll be ok" he said laughing. "I'm pretty good at all the "white boy" dances like the sprinkler." he said extending his arm out and began doing the sprinkler. "Just let me know the date whenever. I'll take that day off especially for you. I'll gladly miss work and patrol to go watch you dance." he told her. He smiled when she said she wanted green paint instead of yellow paint. "Green works for me. I'll have them painted on for sure."
As they stood there kissing, it seemed like everything around them disappeared. Time stopped and they were the only two people there. It was perfect. Noah had never kissed anyone and felt that way. This girl was special. When the thunder rumbled above them and it started to rain, Noah still didn't care. It was almost like a movie. The boy runs to the girl to stop her from leaving and they end up kissing in the rain. "Well, it makes for a more dramatic effect I guess." he said still holding her and looking into her eyes. He wrapped his fingers around hers when she grabbed his hands. The final gentle kiss even left him a little light-headed. It was a good feeling. "So then does that mean I've conviced you to stay? he asked. "I'm glad you're staying. I haven't been this happy in a long time." he said leaning he head down on hers.

( I'm safe up high ) ;; Nothing can touch me ;; Why do I feel this good sober ?
Yasmin smiled at Noah when he said that she was his type. She had never felt this way about anyone and she liked it. "If you're trying to get me to blush it's not gonna work, I'm starting to become immune to your charm." The more time she spent with him the easier it became to not blush around him. She had to admit she really didn't know what her type was but she knew for a fact it was Noah. Pushing a few strands of her black hair out of her face she smiled at him. "Well guys that make me laugh with their cute dorky charm sure have a way of catching my attention that's for sure. If they play guitar that makes it even better." She poked him playfully as he started turning red again, he must have realized that she was describing him. When he commented on her "psychic" powers she laughed. "See I'm just as good as any of the guys in the pack except I'm better looking."
Sometimes fate is kind, and fate was smiling down on both of them today for sure. She was glad that Noah had come up here when he did, not many people came up to the cliffs unless they were gonna go cliff diving. They stood there with their arms around each other and the world just seemed to melt away. "You won't have to scale the house don't worry, my room is on the first floor. Just promise if you come visit me after patrol or something like that you won't come all injured." She knew that he would heal fast if he got hurt but deeper wounds took longer to heal and she didn't want to see him hurt. Not only that, but she didn't want blood all over her room. It would be hard to explain the random bloods stains to her mom.
Yasmin giggled as Noah poked her in the stomach. "Not fair I'm ticklish. No poking." Being with Noah just came so naturally to her, she didn't have to pretend to be something that she wasn't with him around. She had a very playfully personailty that she normally had to hide but around him nothing mattered and she could just be herself. Being shy wasn't something that she was used to but it was a nice change, it was as if he was bringing out a new side of herlsef that she didn't know existed. Laying out on her stomach she looked up at him and smiled. "You're bring out a side of me I didn't know I had before. With you I don't have to pretend to be someone I'm not."
She triedd not to laugh as he showed her his "impressive" dance skills but she just couldn't hold it in. Grabbing his arms before he hurt himself she kissed him gently and smiled. "I'll makre sure I don't wear my ballet flats when I teach you how to dance so it won't hurt as much. As impressive as that was you're not the only one who's good at the "white boy" moves." She let go of his arms and started doing the running man. She knew she probably looked like a dork but she didn't care. Being with him was fun and she knew that it would get him to laugh. She stopped dancing and smiled when she saw that he was laughing.
The world just seemed to melt away as he was kissing her. It was amazing and the rain just made it seem that much more amazing. After she had broke the kiss she felt a little light-headed as if she had been floating. At that moment one of her favorite songs popped into her head and she just couldn't resist. "I stop the world and melt with you. You've seen the difference and it's getting better all the time. And there's nothing you and I won't do. I'll stop the world and melt with you." She giggled as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Nudging his head up she looked up into his eyes and smiled. "I'm staying for sure. Being with you is the happiest I've been in a long time." Despite the rain and the fact that they were both soaked she kissed him again as she held onto him not wanting to let go of this moment.
